Is Findom Itself a Scam?
It can feel like it at times. From the foreign Yahoo boys who flood your inbox with "come two Telegram bebe" messages to the whiny Reddit posts of alleged subs allegedly seeking "real" dommes but never ever EVER hitting you up, a girl can get discouraged in this game if they're not diligent. Goddess Tara has definitely encountered her share of the following types LARPing as True & Honest Findom Doms or subs:
- Bitter misogynistic men likely using the findom fetish community to fuck with doms & waste our time.
- Creepy rapey men for whom it's a challenge to try & cross boundaries & get Dommes to submit to them.
- Wannabe pimps & madams who create groups & sell "Secrets THEY don't want you to know" about success in Findom.
- Real, totally-not-scammer Sugar daddies who want to give away large sums of $$$ for nothing, but only through WhatsApp, Telegram or another sketchy location other than the one they're speaking to us on.
- Guys who just wanna buy foot pics (the easiest, least pornographic genre of photos)... through Telegram or another grey-market app.
All of these seemingly unrelated groups have 1 thing in common: they want YOUR money. Some will use devious, life-ruining means like sextortion or identity theft to get it, which is why I'm so against sharing your real name or other identifying info. You never know who you're connecting with on the other end, and that goes for clients as well as Dommes.
No Easy Solution
I wish I had a quick-fix silver bullet solution to share for this problem, but I don't. And you shouldn't believe anyone who claims to either. Best advice is to avoid anyone trying to recruit you or sell you anything if you're a Dom. Findom is about feeding the sexual fetish of subs who get off on letting dominant women drain their bank accounts. If a guy approaches you for any reason other than that, treat it as a scam. Never pay for anything & make it clear upfront what your "hard nos" are.
And obviously the nature of the gig is going to attract women who wanna get rich quickly and easily without putting in much effort, just as the "foot model" gig does. But not all of us are fly-by-night. Good Doms exhibit consistency over time & talk to their potential clients like human beings (except during playtime or drain sessions). They have clear terms of service & treat their business like just that--a business complete with all the same rules, regulations & standards any other serious legitimate business would have. We may play stone cold bitches during naughty meetings, but it's all in service of the greater mission: to provide a sought-after service to paying clients. One they can't get by watching free on-demand porn or dating nice vanilla girls.
I'd say based on my own experience that the current online findom fetish community is 80% scammers and time wasters and 20% real paypigs and dommes. Maybe 85/15. And friends, those ain't great numbers no matter which side you're approaching it from. The best thing you can do is call out scammers and bums whenever and wherever you encounter them; report their accounts & block them right after. Blast them publicly on your wall. WHATEVER. Just don't let them fw you without consequences. 👊🏼 Also, consider getting into a niche part of the kink community or expanding your services in some way. There are countless fetishes out there within the BDSM world as well as others (Wikipedia has a whole paraphilia page, though some are disgusting/terrifying). Pick something you genuinely like & you're more likely to be successful.
Oh, and support your favorite Dom by liking/sharing her work and donating whenever possible. Any amount appreciated. What goes around DOES come back around eventually, and you can't expect good abundant things if you're not putting them out into the findom universe. 🌌
